On Friday, 10 September 2021 nine students who got bursaries to study at Mogolo Academy were given their certificates after successfully completing their studies.

The group got the bursary through the partnership of Waterberg FM 99.3 and Mogolo Academy in March this year.

Student representative Jerry Fisha thanked all partners involved and also extended his appreciation to fellow students, who cooperated throughout the course.

“We behaved well, respected each other and worked in unity. I would also like to highlight that we were equally treated irrespective of our different backgrounds.

Among the stakeholders on graduation day were Exxaro, who offers great support to Mogolo Academy.

Willem Hofman, who is the HRD Training Manager at Exxaro complimented students who graduated and encouraged them to spread the message to the extended communities that they can also enroll at the Academy and successfully complete their studies.

Waterberg FM Marketing Manager Thabo ‘Catchvibe’ Moatshe said they appreciated the partnership, which he said sought to empower the community as institutions involved are representatives of these communities.

Principal of Mogolo Academy Ephia Makhumisane said they had a common goal to give back to the community and the question was how do they give back to the community? “We engaged in a project that was intended on giving back to the community of Lephalale in a form of education. Therefore, we ran a competition through Waterberg FM, with the aim of improving the lives of the people around Lephalale. We had winners who later enrolled with Mogolo Academy, who made us all gather here today to be honoured”, said Makhumjsane.

She said the winners enrolled in these different skills courses; Welding, Plumbing, Safety and Computer, which they completed.
